About us

Abrigo Spa, founded in 1979 and with more than 1000 machines installed worldwide, produces automation systems for food and not-food companies, world leader in their own branches. Abrigo has a full-cycle production, sales and service site in Italy and a subsidiary in Canada, for sales and service in the North-American market. Its production includes two main families of machineries: secondary packaging systems and ultrasonic cutting equipments.

In both these fields, Abrigo has been one of the first companies introducing robot applications in food industry, for chocolate, bakery, pastry, frozen food.

The robotic packaging cells by Abrigo covers a wide range of applications. The product units can arrive in different ways: in a high speed single row, in trays or moulds, randomly, in bags. For each of these there is a different solution, based on brushless motors sorters, or artificial vision systems guiding the robots, or controlled accumulation systems. The product can be placed in its own package or fed onto a flow-wrapping or cartoning machine. All the lines can include devices for: forming, denesting, sealing the packages; finishing equipments like markers, labelers etc... and quality check equipments like check weighters, metal detectors, vision systems.

The ultrasonic cutting machines are dedicated to obtain portions from round or rectangular cakes, or pizzas, or other food products, at room temperature or chilled or frozen. The ultrasonic technology, with great advantages in cut quality and hygiene, is combined with traditional Abrigo skills in motion and robotics.
