SCA Packaging Germany locations with FSC certifications

In the development and production of displays, consumer goods and industrial packaging, SCA Packaging Germany is focussed on creativity, individuality and the sustainability of cardboard as a base material. The SCA Group forests have been certified since 1999. The SCA Packaging locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland now all possess FSC certification after the first SCA Packaging locations in Germany were certified in 2009. By applying FSC labels to their products, customers can be assured that sustainable resources are being used.

Paper and cardboard are valuable resources - global demand for these products is continually rising. This makes it all the more important to protect natural forests. FSC logos on packaging and displays ensure the use of fibrous material from sustainable forestry and controlled recycling processes. Companies with the FSC label on packaging and displays therefore show end consumers that their actions are environmentally responsible.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a not-for-profit and independent organisation whose aim is to guarantee an environmentally sound, socially acceptable and economically viable management of forests. The FSC logo ensures that there is no use of fibrous materials from controversal sources and that packaging is manufactured from post consumer recycling material. The approved product chain certification instrument "Chain of Custody (COC)" exists for this purpose: Every company in the product chain must establish an internal process with control systems which ensures that work is carried out in accordance with the FSC standard. If all rules are complied with and the audits are completed without complaint, the company receives the coveted FSC certificate and can use the label on its products.

SCA Packaging has now obtained FSC certification for their sites in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. "We are proud to be able to guarantee the strictest environmental standards for the entire production process of SCA Packaging products to our customers", says Carolyn Wagner, Director of Sales & Marketing at SCA Packaging Germany/Switzerland.

"The use of the FSC logos now also allows our customers to clearly show that environmentally conscious actions are not only important but that they are also being consistently implemented to end consumers", adds Wagner. SCA Packaging can offer its customers the FSC mixed and FSC recycled seals.
