The new EIDOS PRINTESS: development that indicates continuity

During the Interpack expo, EIDOS the Italian company distributed exclusively in Germany by GRUBER of Rehling is going to present its new printers with automatic label application: Printess 4 and Printess 6 (label width respectively of 120 and 180 mm). The new generation has been called G5, because it is the fifth print & apply production generation in over twenty years and they still have in common with the old models the same solid base. It has really many new features that have been achieved by means of experience and by following the new requirements of the industry. Among the most important ones we wish to mention the graphic colour display. All models are supplied with an interactive “touch screen”. They can be connected to all the most important standard means of communication and we can say that all space barriers have been surmounted: indeed besides the Rs232, USB and Ethernet connections, now even a wire-less connection is available, this means no more wires, no more cables. Interfacing with the Easycode label creation program is carried out by the USB memory that in the future is bound to replace floppy disks. The USB memory has greater capacities, it is easier to handle and practically there is no error risk. The new PRINTESS 4 and 6 are arranged in advance for RFID label writing in one of the three extant standards. These labels with built-in transponder can be read by a 13,56 or 868 or 915 Mhz radio frequency and even though they are not very popular yet, they will surely become the protagonists of tomorrows automatic identification. For what concerns the other basic functions, now the heads are all high speed type and have 12 bits /mm (300 dpi). PRINTESS 6 has more autonomy because the dimensions of the label rolls and of the thermal tape rolls have been increased. PRINTESS 120 and PRINTESS 180, which are currently on the market will remain on the price-list at more convenient prices. The other EIDOS machines that will be exhibited during the show next to PRINTESS are: SWING and CODITHERM®.
